Cyc Fitness Austin: What to Expect

Published on I recently started the #SpringIntoChange challenge at Cyc Fitness Austin. My heartrate monitor data illustrates the exact moment my body went into shock—and the moment that I was able to pick back up and keep peddling thanks to the encouragement of Cycologist Blair.

Your first class at Cyc Fitness Austin? It is going to be hard. It will also be fun thanks to the staff, lights and music.

When you enter the studio, you will be greeted by the staff and need to fill out a waiver. Once that is out of the way, you let them know your cycling shoe size (their bikes require shoes that clip-in) and you can stow your stuff in their lockers with built-in digital locks. They have bathrooms (with showers!) and a great lounge area to mingle before class.

Once you head into the studio, the team comes in to help you learn how to adjust your bike and clip in-and-out of the pedals. The Cycologist will introduce themselves and prep you quickly for the class; additionally at the beginning they will explain the different hand positions and everything you need to know.

Then, you pedal away!

Once class is over, your Cycologist will check in on how the class went. You drop your towel off in a bin and your shoes off in a bin and you are all done and ready for the next class! If you park in the University Towers garage, be sure to get a token from the front desk so you don't pay for parking.
